The skin, the largest organ of our body, acts as a physical barrier against all external agents. Proper daily care of it is essential to strengthen this barrier and thus prevent infections, allergies, and/or irritations.
Did you know that the skin absorbs 60% of the chemicals it comes into contact with?
Natural cosmetics eliminate harmful chemicals for our skin and replace them with natural ingredients. These, having a composition of animal or plant origin, have structures similar to our skin, adapting perfectly to it, and thus avoiding modifying or even damaging it.
For a cosmetic to be considered natural, it must meet the following requirements:
· At least 90% of the ingredients must be of natural origin
· Chemical ingredients that are questioned are not included. That is, compounds about which there are doubts about their safety for the environment or people's health.
· They use environmentally friendly production processes.
· Ingredients of animal origin are allowed as long as they are not derived from animals amputated or specifically sacrificed for the production of the cosmetic (e.g. milk, honey..)
· They are not tested on animals, neither the final product nor any of its ingredients.
· Ingredients or processes involving controversial technologies such as genetically modified organisms, nanotechnology, or irradiation are not allowed.
In addition, although it is not a requirement, natural cosmetic brands usually use eco-friendly, recycled, and/or recyclable packaging.
